Pine View School just received #1 Florida school rating for high schools and #13 Nationally in the United States by U.S. News and World Report.

Pine View School was founded in 1969 by John Woolever as Florida’s only school for the intellectually “gifted.”  It has been at it’s current location in Osprey, Florida since 1994.  Pine view’s student enrollment is over 2,100 students in grades 2-12.  Pine View’s graduating classes tend to be under 200 students.

There are several requirements for being admitted to Pine View School:

  1. Sarasota County resident
  2. Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children Fourth Edition (WISC-IV) or the Stanford-Binet V (SB5) IQ test administered by a licensed psychologist with a score of at least 130.
  3. Renzulli’s Scales for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students
  4. Recent report card for an full academic year.
